We’ve listed the following links and forms for you to use as you complete your MSA program and begin to make the transition to your first school executive role. Some of these links are required and some are simply optional to help you differentiate yourself. We’ve listed these by month. If you see “REQUIRED BY” it is your responsibility to complete the forms by the required date.
January-February OPTIONAL
Job Availability Form. This optional form gives you an opportunity to have your name sent directly to all of the superintendents and HR directors in NC. By completing this secure online database, you agree to have your information shared with NC superintendents and HR directors. You will receive an email with specific instructions by the North Carolina Principal Fellows Director about how to complete this process.
May-REQUIRED BY May 31
DPI Verification of Internship. You must complete this form, give the form to your campus coordinator for his/her signature and then mail the original document to the PFP office by May 31. We then process it and forward it to DPI Licensure to allow you to receive one year experience on your teaching license. Failure to complete this form by the due date could cause you to lose the year's experience on your teaching license for your intern year.
August-REQUIRED AS SOON AS YOU ARE EMPLOYED
Notification of Employment - You must complete a Notification of Employment form to notify the State Education Assistance Authority that you have been hired for a school executive role and can begin your service repayment. You send this information to the State Education Assistance Authority and send a copy to us as a back up file. To request a copy of this form, please call the PFP office at (919) 962-4575.

Post College Internships- This article from Career Journal (a subsidiary of the Wall Street Journal) has a key point for Principal Fellows-that is to, whenever possible, find ways to volunteer and help in different areas outside of what you do in the internship-hiring officials get a chance to see how you can bring “intangibles” to their district.
PFP Internship Weekly Braggables- I use this form EVERY week to jot down and remember what I accomplished during the week. This gives the raw information for updating one’s resume, as well as giving you reference material for a “verbal portfolio” as you answer your interview questions with specific activities and results you have achieved.
Top Ten Job Search Tips- This article is from the classified section of the Raleigh News and Observer. Former Director, Dr. Chris Hitch, adapted a couple of their tips to make it more practical for you as school executives.
